50 years of LTCC: It Takes A Village
March 15, 2024
On March 5th LTCC celebrated a significant milestone: its 50th Anniversary. The event united community members, students, past and current employees, and local officials to honor this remarkable moment in their long journey as a respected institution of education. For over 5 decades this institution has proven its dedication to serving the community as both a beacon of learning and opportunity. From modest beginnings to now serving thousands, the growth and partnership between the community of South Lake Tahoe and Lake Tahoe Community College is undeniably worth celebrating.
As LTCC commemorated a huge landmark, the event served as both a tribute to the college's achievements and a recognition of the community that has supported it over the years. Since opening its doors in 1975, LTCC has been committed to providing the opportunity for education– a dream that would not have been possible to achieve without the unwavering support of a community that was growing alongside it. In order to rightfully honor that same community, LTCC used this event to unveil its new 50th anniversary logo and community centered campaign. Scheduled to run for the next 18 months, these campaigns “50 Faces of LTCC” and “50 Awesome Alumni" will invite nominations of students, staff, alumni, donors, and other stakeholders in the community who have made a positive impact on LTCC’s legacy.
The shared celebration and unveiling of their campaigns is a testament to LTCC’s dedication to serving its community for many years to come. As LTCC looks to the future, it does so with the knowledge that its legacy is not just one of academic excellence but also one of community partnership and pride.
