Recognizing Roberta Mason as South Lake Tahoe Woman of the Year
April 23, 2025
Honoring a Local Legend at Lake Tahoe Community College and Beyond
LTCC is incredibly proud to share that California State Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil (Senate District 4) has formally recognized Roberta Mason as the 2025 South Lake Tahoe Woman of the Year. The honor was presented by Todd White at the most recent LTCC Board Meeting.
Roberta’s visionary leadership and unwavering dedication have shaped the college and
community for over 40 years. As a founding trustee and the first President of LTCC’s
Board of Trustees, Roberta helped bring higher education to South Lake Tahoe—transforming
lives and building a legacy that continues to educate and inspire.
From pioneering LTCC’s creation in the 1960s to her continued service on the LTCC
Foundation Board today, Roberta is the heart of Coyote Country. Her selection for
this honor, nominated by LTCC as part of our 50th anniversary celebration, is a powerful
reminder of what passionate civic engagement can achieve.
Please join us in celebrating Roberta Mason—a tireless advocate, a community pillar, and the unofficial “mother” of LTCC.
