Counseling

Counselors are trained to help students attain their educational and career goals by providing career and academic counseling, helping students explore and select a major, and providing students with information to meet transfer, degree or certificate requirements.

Students in the following categories should see a counselor prior to enrolling:

   • Enrolling in a college class for the first time
   • Planning to earn an A.A. degree or certificate
     at Lake Tahoe Community College
   • Planning to transfer to a 4-year college
   • Returning to college after a lengthy absence
   • On academic or progress probation
   • Attending high school
   • Are a non-high school graduate
   • Score low on the English and Math assessment tests

All students are encouraged to talk with one of the counselors in Student Services. Please bring a copy of previous course work to discuss course planning.
